Este é um projeto que venho cozinhando há algum tempo (mais de 20 anos:)), a fonte WHTPNY Regular sendo um de meus primeiros type designs, iniciada em 2001. Mais do que um tributo "fanboy" ao álbum "White Pony", obra-prima dos Deftones, esta coleção de fontes é uma homenagem ao lado visual e à influência perene da estética visual da banda, uma parceria criativa realmente inspiradora com o diretor de arte Frank Maddocks que (verdade seja dita) ainda ressoa em mim depois de todos esses anos.

Desenvolvidas a partir de dois logotipos da banda projetados para o álbum, WHTPNY Regular e WHTPNY LCD são o tipo de tentativa que parece muito lógica, mas desafiadora, de preencher as lacunas e construir um conjunto de caracteres funcional a partir de algumas letras maiúsculas. A versão PX (pixel) é um bônus, desenhada a partir da mesma estrutura do peso normal.

A combinação de colagem analógica e gráficos atmosféricos, juntamente com um acabamento exuberante dos anos 2000, realmente combina com a música e provou ser um clássico atemporal. Foi muito divertido traduzir isso para as fontes completas apresentadas aqui.

Por se tratar de um trabalho bastante pessoal, estou disponibilizando uma licença gratuita para uso pessoal para quem tiver interesse.

This one's been cooking for a while now (about 20+ years), as WHTPNY Regular is one of my first type designs, beginning in 2001. More than a music fan tribute to the Deftones' masterpiece album "White Pony", this type collection is a homage to the visual side and enduring influence of the band's aesthetics, a really inspiring creative partnership with art director Frank Maddocks that (truth be told) still resonates with me after all these years.

Cut from 2 band logos designed for the album, WHTPNY Regular and WHTPNY LCD are the kind of attempt that seem very logical, yet challenging, to fill the gaps and build a functional character set from a few uppercase letters. The PX (pixel) version is a bonus, designed from the same structure of the regular weight.

The combination of analog collage and ambient graphics, along with a y2k lush polish really matches the music and proved to be a timeless classic. It was really fun to translate that into the full typefaces presented here.

As this is a very personal work, I am providing a free for personal use license for those who are interested.
